Gauteng opens 15 sites to register people with addiction
The Gauteng government will open the sites across the province on Tuesday, 27 October, to link people struggling with substance abuse to treatment and recovery services. The date marks the first anniversary of the "Tswa Daar – Ke Moja" campaign.
Registration at each site includes screening, plus medical and psychosocial assessments. These checks decide whether a person goes to inpatient, outpatient or community-based care.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi will lead the registration drive. Elijah Mhlanga, spokesperson for the Gauteng government, spoke for the province on the plan.
