Home Affairs offices open 7am to 9pm on election day
Ongoing: Elections Hot
Home Affairs offices across South Africa will open for extended hours on 4 November so eligible voters can collect identity documents or apply for temporary identity certificates. Walk-ins are allowed without online bookings.
Thulani Mavuso, a Deputy Director-General at the Department of Home Affairs, confirmed the arrangement. He said: "The Department of Home Affairs will be open on the fourth of November."
The department says the longer hours are meant to help voters who still need identity documents before they cast their votes.
