March and March leader criticises government on illegal immigration
Jacinta Ngobese Zuma, leader of the March and March group, says the government took too long to deal with illegal immigration. She spoke after the Constitutional Court ruled on the deportation of asylum seekers.
The Constitutional Court ruled that asylum seekers may not be deported until they have fully accessed the asylum system. This applies regardless of how they arrived in the country.
Ngobese Zuma said the government's slow action is the reason South Africa now struggles with the problem. In her words: "this is the reason South Africa finds itself battling with the challenge today".
