Ntshavheni takes Love Your Street campaign to Kliptown
Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni will visit Kliptown in Soweto on Tuesday morning with Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero. The campaign aims to promote community pride, clean and safe neighbourhoods, and awareness of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).
Love Your Street is a joint initiative of The Presidency and the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS). The system said the campaign is turning neglected, poorly lit and overgrown parks and open spaces into safe, clean community spaces. It said these places were identified as GBVF hotspots.
GCIS also said the campaign fast-tracks the Presidential 1 billion Trees Planting campaign. It said the programme continues to be rolled out to other provinces to speed up service delivery.
