Police to hand over new vehicles at Western Cape festive launch
About 175 new vehicles will go to the six districts of the Western Cape, police said. Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia is expected to lead the launch of the Safer Festive Season 2026/2027 Operations on Wednesday.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) said the vehicles will bolster operational activities and so help ensure safer communities. National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola is also set to attend the launch.
Integrated law enforcement teams will show their skills during the launch. SAPS said they will use simulations that depict real-life crime situations.
