Polls project MK Party to lead eThekwini metro
Ongoing: Elections Hot
Four polling groups say the MK Party is likely to be the largest party in eThekwini in its first local government election. Three polls put its support at 40% or more, while the Social Research Foundation forecasts 30%.
The polls come from the Social Research Foundation, Mark Data, Ipsos and Sabi. Mark Data, Ipsos and Sabi each project at least 40% for the MK Party in the metro.
All four research groups expect the DA to finish second. They also say the ANC could drop from first place to third.
No party is expected to win an outright majority of 50% plus one. A coalition government is therefore likely to stay in place in the metro.
