Ramaphosa tells Soweto youth to apply for opportunities
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa campaigned door-to-door in Soweto on Sunday, a week before the local government elections. He said young people must not rely only on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
Ramaphosa visited homes in Soweto, including in Diepkloof and Orlando. He urged young people to apply for the opportunities that are available.
ANC Head of Campaigns Mdumiseni Ntuli said the party's campaign is gaining momentum. He linked this to the registration of 181 councillor candidates. The Independent Electoral Commission had barred these candidates from taking part in the elections, and the matter has since been resolved.
